The aim of this session is to enable carers to better understand the changes caused by dementia and how best to manage these changes as they occur. Participants will gain a better understand of:

what dementia is,

the effect dementia has on behaviour,

strategies for effective communication,

changed behaviours and what might trigger these,

coping strategies and support options for carers
